    9849 cab dimensions

Happy Holidaze and all that jive!

Anybody got the total vent length from the baffle face or even the part numbered vent's length, which requires a rebate?: http://www.lansingheritage.org/image...closures20.jpg

I assume it's tuned to Altec's default ~42 Hz, but want to make sure: Altec 9849 Compact Studio monitor - diyAudio

6 inches even on the length, 3 inch inside diameter. I was going to take a pic of the tape measure in the port, but camera is too cold as it spent the night in the van.

IMNSHO, i would not use an 811 as that fella plans to. If i didn't have 32 bent horns to work with, i'd sell the 802's and go right for the MR931/902 combo(it will fit in the box).

Thanks! Don't recall seeing this info.

Agreed unless dual 414s are used same as Altec, so planned to mention it and suggest he join us here, though I'm not too hopeful as it's often such a 'pain in the drain' to follow/post here nowadays and still don't get thread updates no matter how many times I [re]set the option for immediate updates.

Yesterday it took me over an hour to post this new thread as it kept telling me I'd somehow 'requested' 5x too many allowable tags that clearing them out didn't solve the problem [I've never intentionally added any tags to my threads/posts], though multiple logging outs, closing browsers, etc., finally allowed me to post it as long as I didn't preview it first.

Now I can't post due to 'too many requests to process at the moment' !!! Maybe suggesting he join isn't such a good idea......... No wonder an increasing number of folks are now using DIYaudio.

Just the camera spent the night out there. But, i appreciate the offer.

I had taken the camera over to the cabin the day before, and forgot to bring it back in the house with me. Got pretty cold the night before last, and when i wanted to snap a pic for the thread i kept getting a standby warning because of condensation.

Not to split hairs, i looked at the drawing which specs 2-31/32 dia., then i put my glasses on and measured again and that's precisely what my ports measure.
